During the press-conference held in UNIAN on 29 March 2002 'Freedom of Choice' Coalition of Ukrainian NGOs and Transparency International - Ukrainian Chapter publisize

THE LIST OF POLITICAL PARTIES AND ELECTORAL BLOCKS THAT VIOLATED UKRAINIAN ELECTION LAWS BY EXCEEDING ELECTION FUNDS LIMIT.

Such outcome is based on the results of independent monitoring of political parties and electoral blocs expenditures on political advertisements in mass-media.

According to the monitoring data on March 24 three political parties, among them SDPU (u), 'Women for future', Green Party of Ukraine exceeded the election funds limit only by the expenditures on political advertising.

At present it's SDPU(u) who holds leader position according to the cost of its advertising that is $ USD 1 860 904 . Also SDPU (u) is the leader on expenditures on political advertisements, at the same time 'Women for future' overcome other political parties and blocs on expenditures on social advertisements.

According to the monitoring results during the period from the official start of the election campaign to March 24 market price of political and social advertisements by all participants of election campaign (in mass-media monitored) is 31,458 763 UAH (~ 5, 913 301 $ USA). 70% of this sum ($4 124 758 USA) is spend on direct political advertisements and 30% ($1 788 543 USA) - on social advertisements that support several political forces.

The group of leaders that spend on political advertisements more than $ USD 200 000 consists of: SDPU (u) ($ USD 1 860 905), 'Women for future' ($ USD 1026519), Green Party of Ukraine ($ USD 604 668), 'Apple' ($ USD 325 580), 'Our Ukraine' ($ USD 324 640), All-Ukrainian Unity of Christians ($ USD 318 406), Ukrainian Communist Party (renewed) - ($ USD 288 316), party 'New Generation of Ukraine' ($ USD 257 840), 'For United Ukraine' ($ USD 250 969). Ukrainian Communist Party (renewed) demonstrates the highest increasing rate of expenditures on political advertising. More detailed monitoring data find in the attachment.

Besides 'Freedom of Choice' Coalition made public the commentary of Ann Woall, a member of Salt Lake City Olympic Games Steering Committee concerning broadcasting said before Olympic Games on UT-1 National TV channel mentioning 'under support of 'For United Ukraine' bloc' Mrs. Woall said that that 'any political force may not announce that Olympic Games is supported by its party/ bloc'
